At a special board meeting, nine community speakers, including Sierra Madre Mayor Chris Low, called for the resignations of Fredericks, Harden, Velázquez, and Kenne over the Brown Act violations. A Marshall student also spoke. After public comment, the board immediately recessed to closed session. The Cure and Correct Letter arrived the following day.

The Superintendent's School Consolidation Advisory Committee (SCAC) held its final meeting and voted on all six proposed school closure scenarios. Every proposal was rejected, the closest vote was 10 in favor, 19 opposed. The committee's official feedback: "There is no recommendation to consolidate schools at this time." The board is not bound by this result.
